Hurricane Fay has postponed our opening day until tomorrow. Some will gripe about the county’s decision to close the schools. I commend the decision; better safe than sorry when it comes to hurricanes.
Anyway, this gives me a chance to write up a quick post. I’ve spent the last week determined to create a technology friendly classroom environment. I think, thanks to our super-tech guy RW, I finally have a room arrangement with which I can work. There’s lots of space to move around. The tables can be easily arranged to support varied work areas. The projection area is easy to see from anywhere in the room. And, I finally have a presentation station! Now I can use my document camera, lcd projector, smart airliner and computer at once without having to string wires and extension cords haphazardly across the room.
